The Sunflower Community
New Urbanism
New Urbanism was founded in the belief that physical environments have a direct impact on happy, prosperous lives and that well-designed cities create healthy places for people and businesses to thrive. Sunflower Beach is distinctively modeled after the successful communities along Florida’s 30-A such as Seaside, Rosemary Beach, Watercolor and Alys Beach, whose main features include walkability, connectivity, quality architecture, sustainability and quality of life.
Schnell Urban Design led the charge of Sunflower Beach’s overall community design. As a designer for places of national and international renown, Mark Schnell has distinguished himself in the fields of visionary placemaking and New Urban community design.
